![]() The Work Release Facility houses non-violent, minimum-security inmates that are soon to be released back into the community. In addition to the general population inmates, the facility also houses the inmates assigned to the Work Release / Workforce program. All inmates are charged a dollar-a-day fee, per state code 53.1-131.3, which helps offset the costs of their incarceration. Local inmates receiving 12 months or less will serve their sentence at the Loudoun Adult Detention Center. Often inmates will receive a stay of delivery to the Department of Corrections because of appeals. Some inmates may find themselves housed at the facility for up to three years before being transferred to the State Department of Corrections. The center uses both the direct and podular remote methods of inmate supervision. The Adult Detention Center, Administrative Offices, Community Custody Program, the Loudoun County Magistrate’s Office, are all located within the same complex. The current Loudoun County Adult Detention Center became operational on June 16, 2007. Inmates still have the privilege to meet their attorneys in the non-contact visitation booths or via a free non-recorded video visitation on an inmate tablet.Working with our contracted medical staff in the facility to ensure only critical medical appointments outside of the facility will be conducted.Increased usage of Court TV to minimize the number of inmate transfers in and out of ADC.All inmate tablets have up-to-date links regarding the latest CDC guidelines.All inmates continue to have access to mental health counseling and psychiatric visits via iPad or in-person in non-contact visitation booths.In addition, all inmates are afforded a free 15-minute weekly video visitation with loved ones during the COVID-19 crisis. All inmates have access to these tablets. Tablet video visitations continue for friends and loved ones.The number of inmates in each housing unit has been reduced allowing inmates to practice social distancing.All inmates are currently assigned their own cell in each housing unit inside the facility.Those inside the new medical unit will have the same privileges as the general population, including the same access to tablets, telephones, television, and non-contact visitation. If inmates exhibit any flu-like symptoms, they will be quarantined in a negative airflow cell. The inmates are monitored and checked for any symptoms every day by deputies and medical personnel. If after 48-72 hours they exhibit no signs of sickness (cold, flu, etc.) they will be transferred to a new medical observation unit for 12 to 14 days of further observation before joining the general population. Inmates who enter the facility will continue to spend the normal 48-72 hours in intake to await their TB/medical clearance. A tiered approach has been implemented for inmates entering the facility upon arrest or transfer.The Loudoun County Medical contractor increased the observation and assessment of all incoming inmates entering the facility.The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a number of measures at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center to ensure the health and well-being of the facilities inmates, staff and visitors:
